FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Meet four brown bears up close and personal March 16-18, St. Patrick’s Day weekend, during the Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show at the Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., in Fort Wayne.
On behalf of Berne Apparel, Jeff Watson of J&L Bruins will have 2-month old cubs on display, available for rare photo opportunities as he educates attendees on bear behavior and safety in the wilderness.
As part of the three-day event, the bear expert will share tips on how to properly store food in bear country, how to handle a surprise encounter and share his experiences, bound to prove beneficial to any active outdoor enthusiast.
The bear cubs set to make an appearance—Bronson, Screech and two unnamed—
were born in Georgia and Ohio and were recently given to Watson, who has trained bears for over 20 years now.
Watson owns a preserve in Spencer, Ind., home to four adult bears including Brody, a 1,400 pound brown bear featured on Good Morning America, Grizzly Park and on the cover of National Geographic magazine.
