Show Features & Attractions:

Here are just a few of the 2012 features and attractions – check back soon as we continue to grow:

  • Display Your Deer Mount at The Show – Bring in your deer mount for a weekend display and receive one free show admission and automatically be entered in a drawing for a free muzzle loading rifle given away by Osborn Polaris, Ft Wayne, IN.  The drawing will be on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm.
  • JAKES Take Aim Program – Kids can enjoy the free indoor inflatable shooting range and gun safety course provided by the National Wild Turkey Federation.
  • Catch Live Fish in Two Ponds! Bring your rod or try one of ours. We’ve got the bait!
  • “Try Before You Buy” Boat Pond. Take a brand new kayak or canoe for a test spin in our giant 25,000 gallon “lagoon.”
  • Tour a Log Cabin right on the show floor. You don’t have to imagine what it would be like any more. This one’s finished and furnished!
  • RV Blowout Sale! Check out dozens of makes and models from Northern Indiana’s top dealers and then drive yourself a sweet bargain!
  • Gear Up for Camping and Save! Whether you’re a backpacker, car camper or RVer, this year you’ll find great deals on a huge inventory of gear and accesories.

  • Bring Your Own Deer Mount and we’ll put it up in a special display area for all to see. You will be  automatically  registered to win a muzzle-loading rifle donated by Osborn Polaris.
  • Climb The Coliseum Free! Test your skills on a giant indoor climbing wall, courtesy of the US Army.
  • Hunting Dog Demo Area. Watch as expert handlers put these amazing canines through their paces and share their training secrets with you.
  • Remote Control NASCAR Speedway. Your in the “driver’s seat” as you race these 1/10th scale replicas of real NASCAR vehicles at speeds up to 200 MPH on the JAM RC Speedway!
  • Indoor “Beach” and sand castle building sponsored by Northern Indiana LAKES Magazine.
  • Free Hunting & Fishing Video Games and more in a 40-foot long video arcade.

Free Seminars on 3 Stages:

Here are just a few of the seminars already scheduled for 2012.  Check back for the complete seminar program.

  • Small Boat Fishing on Lake Michigan – How to decide when and where to fish for Lake Michigan Salmon. If you have a small boat and you might be thinking of trying to get in on Lake Michigan Salmon fishing, it can be done. It takes the right planning and timing and a good eye to the weather. This seminar will give you some pointers on what to look for, when and how it can be done with inexpensive equipment.
  • Skemania Steelhead Fishing Out of a Small Boat on Lake Michigan – These tackle busting fish at certain times of the year are easily assessable to small boat fishing not far from shore. This seminar goes into depth on the equipment, baits and tactics you can use to hook a steelhead. Landing them however, you’re on your own.

  • How to Select and Train a Hunting Retriever – Trinity Oaks Labs are home to FIVE Hunting Retriever Champion titled dogs, and holds its place as one of the TOP training and breeding kennels in the region.  They will be holding 4 seminars covering Selecting, Starting, and Training Your Hunting Retriever, as well as providing demos.

  • Fly-Casting Lessons. Let Jon Widboom and his team of pros from Flymasters of Indianapolis teach you the secrets of this magical sport. Beginners and experts will all learn something new. All day each day at the fly-fishing pond
  • Fly-Tying Demos. Watch and learn as the Flymaster pros demonstrate the are of tying your own flies. All day each day at the fly-fishing pond
  • Bass-Casting – New Product Demos. Gander Mountain’s fishing pros will help you master the latest and greatest bass gear. All day each day next to the Gander Mountain Stage.
  • Kids’ Casting Area. Gander Mountain staff will teach your kids to fish like pros and maybe even take home a prize. All day each day next to the Gander Mountain Stage.
  • Archery Demos & Lessons. Watch one of Gander Mountain’s champion bowmen nail the kill zones on fast-moving lifelike targets at the 3-D Motion Target Archery Range. Want some help with your own stroke? They’ll be glad to give you pointers. Beginners and kids welcome. All day each day at the archery range.

  • Wolf River Outfitters is giving away one 8 hour fishing trip on Wolf River in Fremont, Wisconsin.  Depending on when the trip is booked, the winner will be fishing Walleye to Northern Pike.  The Wolf River is also known for some of the best White Bass fishing in the world.
  • One Lake Michigan Salmon Charter for the spring and early summer 2012 season, April 2nd through July 12th. For 1-6 people, all gear including rods, reels and bait provided. Out of Michigan City, Indiana, Washington Park Marina.  Fishing Licenses are not included, this may be in Indiana or Michigan waters depending on the date and fish. All that is required is to dress appropriately, bring any food or drink on board.
  • Rolling Video Games is giving away two 1 hour parties where the trailer shows up at your house or event and you and as many friends as you invite can play unlimited video games for an hour. What a great party prize!
  • Trinity Oaks Labs will be raffling off 2 weeks of dog obedience training.  Trinity Oaks Labs are home to FIVE Hunting Retriever Champion titled dogs, and holds it place as one of the TOP training and breeding kennels in the region.
