We want everyone in the Fort Wayne tri-state area to know about our fantastic show and we’re pulling out all the stops to make that happen. We promised you we’d spend at least $50,000 on advertising. We are actually spending over $60,000. And here’s what we – and all our exhibitors – are getting for that money.
Television
- Ads on FOX-55, WANE (CBS affiliate), WISE (ABC affiliate), WPTA (NBC affiliate) and Comcast/Viacom Cable Network (124,000 households).
- More than 500 thirty-second commercials and more than 50 ten-second promotional spots in the two weeks leading up to the show.
- TV sponsor FOX will feature THE Outdoor Sports, Lake and Cabin Show on their website for 30 days, make us a sponsor of their Scavenger Hunt, give away 200 tickets, email 9,000 opt-in subscribers about the show and host the show’s welcome booth.
Radio
- For two weeks the radio waves will be buzzing with news of our show all through northern Indiana, northwestern Ohio and southern Michigan.
- More than 800 sixty-second ads and more than 450 promotional spots, including 800 ticket giveaways, will air in the two weeks before the show.
- Stations include WAII, WLDE, WOWO, ESPN, K105, US93.3, JOE-FM, WLKI, WBET, UROCK, WLZZ, WTHD. They run the gamut from news and sports talk to country, adult contemporary and classic rock.
- Live remote broadcasts from the show Friday drive time (US93.3 Country) and Saturday (WLDE FUN 101.7) will include a total of eight live show breaks.
- Radio sponsors US93.3 and JOE-FM will feature THE Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show prominently on their website, email 9,100 opt-in consumers about the show, and give away 500 tickets.
- A “post-it” note $3-off admission coupon to THE Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show will be stuck on the front page of the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette the Sunday before the show. That’s 127,000 coupons!
- Times Publications and Times Clipper, a network of community papers throughout the Fort Wayne area, are running full-page ads for the show and coupons – 187,000 coupons in all! The coupons are also available for download on their popular website.
- Northern Indiana LAKES magazine is running a full-page ad and article about the show, reaching a prime audience of affluent outdoor enthusiasts. They will also be sponsoring the sand “beach” area at the show and giving free magazines to attendees.
- Indiana Outdoors magazine is running three display ads (two half-page and one full page) and is also devoting extensive ink to covering the show.
- Fish & Game Finder magazine has two display ads (one half-page, one full) and extensive coverage of the show. They, too, will have free magazines for all.
- Deer & Deer Hunting and Turkey & Turkey Hunting magazines each feature a half-page display ad and editorial coverage of the show. In addition, they are sending an email about the show to 78,500 opt-in subscribers and will be sponsoring a seminar stage.
Retail Sponsors
- Gander Mountain will hang banners, display posters and distribute 12,500 $3-off coupons in their Fort Wayne store. At the show they will give $10 in Gander Bucks to every attendee and run bass-fishing and archery clinics.
- Dick’s Sporting Goods will give away 12,500 $3-off coupons to their store customers and will give every attendee a sheet of high-value coupons for outdoor sports gear redeemable at their stores.
