First of Its Kind Show to Debut in Fort Wayne Coliseum March 12-14, 2010
Fishers, Indiana, June 3, 2009 — The Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show will take place Friday March 12 through Sunday March 14, 2010, in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. While there have long been popular sportsman, sports-vacation, and log-home shows, the Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show is the first to embrace all aspects of the outdoor enthusiast’s lifestyle under one roof.
The event will feature exhibitors for every aspect of that lifestyle, including fishing and hunting vacations; land, water and snow sports gear and vehicles; log and timber-frame cabins, rustic décor and furnishings; outdoor living, and more. There will also be a full schedule of free clinics, demonstrations, seminars and children’s activities.
The show is being produced by Coliseum Productions of Fishers, Indiana and is the brainchild of two consumer expo veterans, Fort Wayne native David Marquart and Bob Rosen.
“Until 2009 the Coliseum had a popular sports vacation show on that same March weekend for 55 years,” says Coliseum Productions president Marquart. He observes that by broadening the focus, the show will offer even greater value both to consumers and exhibitors. Rosen, the sales and marketing director explains: “Let’s say dad comes because he’s looking for a fishing charter or a hunting camp for a getaway weekend. He also gets to check out all kinds of gear and apparel as well as the new boat or RV he’s been thinking about and maybe that backyard barbecue. If the wife and kids are along, it won’t be long before someone spots the ATVs, Skidoos, hand-carved furnishings, kayaks, and so on. Before you know it,” he adds with a smile, “they’re going to need a piece of lakeside property and a new cabin to keep and enjoy all their new stuff.”
